Cookie policy
Short story: the pages we write don't set any cookies themselves, and our analytics is self-hosted and cookie-free. The ads are the exception.
The ads
Ads on this site are served by Google AdSense. Google's side of that can put cookies, or identifiers that work like them, on your device. They're used to show ads, count how they perform and, if the law lets it, base them on where you've been before, on this site or others. Google covers this on its partner-sites page. Your ad personalization settings are in My Ad Center. If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google shows you a consent message before personalized ads are used, and you can consent, not consent, or manage options right there.
Where else cookies can show up
If you click an Amazon link and land on their store, Amazon sets its own cookies to credit the referral and run its site. That's governed by Amazon's policies, not ours.
Your call
You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings any time. The ads might get less relevant, but nothing here breaks if you do.
