Privacy policy
Plain version, no lawyer-speak where we can help it
Kia Engine Notes keeps things light. We don't ask you to register, we don't sell your personal information for cash, and we don't keep a reader database or profiles of our own.
What's measured
We count page reads with our own self-hosted analytics (Matomo, running on our server — no data goes to a third party). It sets no cookies, respects your browser's Do Not Track setting, anonymizes IP addresses, and doesn't follow you across the web. Aggregate counts only — no personal profiles.
About the ads
The ads you see here come from Google AdSense. Google and its ad partners might drop cookies on your device, or use identifiers that work the same way, to show them and check how they're doing. If the law lets it, that can mean ads picked based on where you've browsed before, here included. Google's own policy page explains how it handles information from sites like this one, and you can adjust ad personalization in My Ad Center.
Coming from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland? A consent message from Google shows up first, so you can consent, not consent, or manage options before personalized ads are used.
One heads-up: some US state privacy laws, like California's, can treat Google's ad cookies as "selling" or "sharing" personal information. Don't want personalized ads? Turn them off at myadcenter.google.com, and block or clear cookies in your browser whenever you like.
